Brief Biography
I am from College Station, Texas where I where I was originally introduced to plant breeding when I learned about the maroon carrots and maroon bluebonnets developed by researchers at Texas A&M University. I followed that interest to Texas A&M and earned a BS in Horticulture so I could become a plant breeder. While I was at Texas A&M, I developed an interest in plant pathology and decided to study plant breeding and soybean diseases at Iowa State University. In the future, I would like to continue my research in plant breeding and plant pathology. In addition to my research, I also enjoy quilting and music, especially playing the violin, piano, and guitar.
